Childcare QQI Level 6

Programme Aim

The overall aim of the course is to provide the learner with the opportunity to develop the required knowledge, skills and competence to work as an autonomous practitioner and/or take responsibility for the work of others in leading and coordinating the provision of a quality Early Childhood Care and Education Environment

Attendance

Two evenings per week – Tuesdays and Wednesday (7.00 to 10.00) Blessington

One evening per week – Wednesdays (6.30 to 9.30) Baltinglass

  • Early Childhood Literacy and Numeracy

  • Early Childhood Curriculum

  • Child Psychology

  • Work Practice

  • Team Leadership

  • Equality and Diversity

  • Creative Studies for Special Needs

(The above modules are subject to change)

Fees

Courses are free for those with less than upper second level education, in receipt of social welfare payment or who have a current full medical card. If none of the above is applicable there is a fee charged for each module.
